About this role
We are seeking an inspiring and ambitious Head of Mathematics to join a setting where education truly changes lives. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape Maths provision within a highly supportive and collaborative team in an outstanding independent school for students with Specific Learning Differences, including dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia.
Our mission is to transform the lives of children with SpLD by offering a rich, purposeful learning environment that builds confidence, develops independence and celebrates individual strengths. As Head of Mathematics, you will play a pivotal role in bringing this mission to life, leading a thoughtfully sequenced curriculum that engages learners, deepens understanding and removes barriers to success in numeracy and mathematical thinking.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Specialist Teachers, ensuring that mathematical learning is inclusive, well‑supported and responsive to individual need. Small class sizes allow for high‑quality teaching, strong professional relationships and a highly personalised approach, enabling pupils to thrive academically and personally.
This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine and lasting impact: leading with vision, modelling excellent practice, and fostering a love of Mathematics that empowers pupils to achieve with confidence and resilience.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early and make an appointment before the closing date if a suitable candidate is identified, so early applications are encouraged.
