Job Description:
As the Head of Learning Support at KISU, you will lead the provision for students with additional learning needs across the school. You will be responsible for developing and implementing an inclusive learning support strategy that ensures all students can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
You will oversee the identification, assessment, and support of students with a range of learning needs, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and other learning differences. Working closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals, you will ensure high-quality interventions and Individualised Educational plans (IEPs) are in place.
The role also includes leading and mentoring the Learning Support team, coaching staff and learning support assistants on inclusive teaching practices, and promoting a whole-school culture of inclusion and wellbeing.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field (minimum requirement)
· Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE/PGDE or equivalent)
· Additional qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Learning Support (desirable)
· Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in Learning Support/SEN, with leadership experience preferr
