About this role

KS 2 Teacher KS2 teacher to lead a specialist Bridging Group for students transitioning into secondary education who require additional support to access the secondary curriculum successfully. The successful candidate will deliver an adapted curriculum that meets the individual needs of students while maintaining high expectations for achievement and personal development. Working closely with KS3 subject teachers, the post-holder will support students to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required for successful integration into mainstream lessons. Key responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering a broad and appropriately adapted curriculum aligned to KS3 expectations. Assessing students’ strengths and barriers to learning and tailoring provision accordingly. Delivering targeted interventions to develop literacy, communication, language, social skills and learning behaviours. Working collaboratively with subject teachers, SEND staff and pastoral teams to ensure a consistent approach to support. Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to accelerate attainment and independence. Supporting students’ social, emotional and academic transition into secondary school. Developing personalised transition plans and facilitating a phased integration into mainstream classes where appropriate. Building positive relationships with students, families and external professionals to support successful outcomes. The ideal candidate will: Be a qualified and experienced KS2 teacher with a strong understanding of literacy and language development. Have experience supporting pupils with barriers to learning. Demonstrate a proactive approach to overcoming barriers to learning. Be committed to raising attainment through high-quality teaching and evidence-informed intervention. Possess excellent communication, organisation and relationship building skills. Share a commitment to inclusion, high expectations and ensuring every student can achieve success
