Head of English - Whole School

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of English Whole School to lead our English and Literature department across all education stages. This leadership role involves overseeing curriculum implementation, supporting teaching staff, and driving continuous improvement in student outcomes within the UK curriculum framework. Position: Head of English Whole School Department: English and Literature Curriculum: United Kingdom Education Stage: Whole School Minimum Qualification: Bachelor Honours Degree Minimum Experience: 5 years Key Responsibilities: - Lead the planning, delivery, and assessment of the English curriculum across all year groups. - Support and mentor teaching staff within the department. - Ensure alignment with UK curriculum standards and best practices. - Promote a love for literature and language among students. - Monitor student progress and implement strategies for improvement. - Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities. Skills and Qualifications: - Bachelor Honours Degree in English or related field (minimum requirement). - At least 5 years’ experience teaching English within a UK-based curriculum setting. - Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams or departments. - Strong knowledge of current pedagogical approaches in literacy education. - Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to inspire both staff and students towards academic excellence.
