Job Overview
We are a Head of English Language Support to lead a dynamic programme supporting English second language learners to eventually progress into mainstream. We are seeking an experienced educator with a strong background in teaching and leading intensive English as a Second Language programmes, alongside proven Head of Department experience coordinating specialist teams. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in the use of assessment tools to monitor progress and inform intervention strategies, while a Master’s qualification in TESL and IELTS training experience would be advantageous. This is an exciting opportunity to shape inclusive practice and make a significant impact within a diverse international school community.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
A recognised teaching qualification and relevant degree.
Significant experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL/EAL) learners within an international or comparable educational setting.
Proven leadership experience, including coordinating or leading a team of specialist teachers.
Strong understanding of language acquisition and inclusive teaching practices for multilingual learners.
Experience using assessment tools and data to monitor student progress, identify learning needs, and inform intervention strategies.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to support student outcomes.
Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and continuous professional development.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s qualification in TESL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
IELTS training and/or examining experience.
Experience developing or leading intensive English support programmes.
