Head of Drama Department - Full Time (Urca Site)
A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced, talented and well-qualified drama teacher to lead our drama department within the secondary section of the school (age 11-18). The school broadly follows a UK style Key Stage 3 curriculum, with IGCSE at Key Stage 4 and IB Diploma at Key Stage 5. The drama department also stages annual productions which the Head of Drama will be expected to lead on and continue to grow. Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop Drama across the Secondary School, ensuring a clear vision, strategic development plans (1-3 years), and high standards of practice;
Be accountable for the quality of teaching, learning, and student progress within the Drama Department;
Design, review, and implement a progressive and engaging Drama curriculum, aligned with UK-style KS3, IGCSE, and IB Diploma requirements;
Monitor and evaluate Drama provision through lesson observations, learning walks, "walk-throughs," and data analysis;
Use assessment data to track progress, identify trends, and inform planning and intervention, ensuring students achieve in excess of global averages;
Lead and support staff through CPD, coaching, mentoring, appraisal, and modelling best practice in Drama pedagogy and Learning Technologies;
Promote inclusive practice, ensuring that Drama is accessible to all students, including those with Learning Support needs or Gifted and
