A Rising Star in Yorkshire. Nationally Exceptional: In 2024, Ash Hill Academy ranked in the top 16 schools in Yorkshire for progress, with an exceptional Progress 8 score of +0.25. Outcomes were outstanding, with 68% of students achieving Grade 4+ in both English and Maths and 49% achieving Grade 5+ in both subjects. In 2025, results once again demonstrated sustained excellence and consistency, with 68% achieving Grade 4+/4+ and an incredible 50% achieving Grade 5+/5+ in English and Maths.
Nationally, the context makes this achievement even more significant. Across England, 1,228 secondary schools have more than 20% white working-class pupils taking GCSEs. Of those schools, only 21 (1.7%) achieve a positive Progress 8 score. Ash Hill Academy is proud to be one of those 21 schools. Nationally, just 18.6% of white working-class pupils achieve a Grade 5+ strong pass in English and Maths. At Ash Hill Academy, 40% of this cohort secured Grade 5+/5+, more than double the national average.
