Head of Department for English

Scalby Academy are looking to appoint a Head of Department for English to join our academy in September 2026, on a full time, permanent basis. In the role of Head of Department for English you will play a key role in leading of English to ensure outstanding outcomes for students in all areas of teaching and learning, curriculum provision, standard of attainment and behaviour and safety within the curriculum area About us Scalby Academy is a successful and popular 11-16 community school based in picturesque seaside town of Scarborough on the North Yorkshire Coast. We currently have approximately 1000 students on roll. In recent years we have become the school of choice in our local community. Our P8 score in 2024 placed us in the top 14% of schools nationally again. Our students are diverse, exciting and talented - and the same is true of our staff.
