Head of Creative and Performing Arts

The British School of Lomé (BSL) is seeking a Head of Creative and Performing Arts to join our dynamic and supportive team. The successful applicant will be suitably experienced to lead a high quality Creative and Performing Arts programme, teaching within our Cambridge, IGCSE and IBDP curricula, and also within our BSL Co-Curriculum. We are looking for a leading teacher who has a specialism in teaching the Performing Arts and who is passionate about helping our students achieve their full potential in a well-rounded and stimulating environment. Teaching duties are initially expected to involve teaching Drama / Theatre within the secondary section; however you will also be overseeing the Creative and Performing Arts co-curriculum across the whole school, so experience across several performing arts disciplines would be an advantage. The ability to commence from August 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter would be an advantage. However, we will also accept applicants who are able to start from January 2027. Skills and Qualities: You will be adaptable, inclusive and student-centred in your approach to teaching and learning, showing the ability to build a strong rapport with students and create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will be culturally sensitive, with the ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds. You will be organised, hard-working and able to manage multiple tasks effectively, with a strong commitment to professional growth and development. You will be skilled at actively differentiating your teaching to meet the learning needs of your students. You will be happy to work flexible hours. You will be a first language English speaker, and your written and verbal communication skills in English will be excellent.
