About this role
The Primary Heads of Chinese Programme (Rec-Y2, Y3-4, Y5-6) work as full-time classroom teachers and provide leadership for Primary Chinese curriculum development. They work collaboratively as a team on the Chinese curriculum continuum, PD sharing and peer coaching for other teachers. They also work independently with Learning Leaders and their year level teachers (both English and Chinese) on Chinese curriculum development, consistency of Chinese curriculum implementation, student monitoring, parent communication, and year level specific needs. These positions report to the Deputy Head of School.
Responsibilities include specific matters related to:
Primary Chinese curriculum development and articulation; Primary Proficiency Programming; Y6/7 transition (Y5-6 Head of Chinese Programme)
Quality control of teaching materials;
Consistency of Chinese programme implementation across classes;
Monitoring student Chinese learning;
Monitor Chinese assessment data tracking;
Communication with parents;
Chinese Programme and Curriculum presentations to parents, community;
Coaching and mentoring teachers through collaborative planning, class observations, PD sharing, etc.;
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Deputy Head of School and Head of Primary.
Each of these positions will have a C Allowance. The position holders will work five additional days before school starts and/or after school finishes.
