Governance Professional

This is a wonderful opportunity for a highly organised and flexible individual to support the effective operation of the Board, sub-committees, governors and members in line with the Articles of Association, Scheme of Delegation and relevant legal and regulatory requirements. As a senior postholder, you will be line managed by the Chair of Trustees and work closely with the CEO and others on matters of regulation, good practice and appropriate procedures in the governance sphere. We are looking for a committed person with relevant governance qualifications or NGA training and experience of an equivalent role. We are also looking for someone with an appreciation of confidentiality, discretion, excellent organisation skills and accurate minute-taking skills. As this is a senior postholder role, the salary is determined by the Trustees and is not based on a salary scale. The salary will be between £30,000 and £36,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a part-time role which will involve working the equivalent of two days per week. The role involves a degree of flexibility to meet the demands of supporting the Trust with both regular meetings and less predictable events like complaints, panels and hearings. You will be required to work around 20 evenings in any academic year on a Monday to attend Trustee and Governor meetings – attendance at a handful of other events may also be required.
