Functional Skills Tutor (Maths & English)

About the Role We are looking for a qualified teacher with experience delivering Functional Skills within Study Programmes, Traineeships, Post-16 education or similar settings, to join our Study Programme Team and deliver Maths & English Functional Skills to learners aged 16–18 across our three Kent locations. The anticipated start date is 1 September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people’s lives within a supportive and inclusive environment. The role operates across Maidstone (ME15 6BD), Medway (ME1 1EW), Gravesend (DA12 2HU), and Dartford (DA1 1RT). Tutor assignments to learner cohorts will be mutually agreed based on business needs and tutor’s location. What You’ll Do Manage a caseload of learners through classroom teaching and ongoing support in line with quality assurance standards and procedures Use initial and diagnostic assessments to measure learner progress and distance travelled Deliver Functional Skills training and assessment tailored to individual learner needs Identify and report Additional Learning Needs (ALN) accurately to support learner progress and funding compliance Work collaboratively with tutors and skills coaches to address Functional Skills development needs Use assessment outcomes to create individual Functional Skills plans Monitor learner progress and addr
