Full-Time IB DP Science Teacher (Biology / Chemistry)

Linden Hall High School is seeking a full-time Science Teaches to teach the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), with a particular focus on Biology and Chemistry. Depending on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, there may also be opportunities to teach lower secondary science courses. Position: Full-Time IB DP Science Teacher (Biology / Chemistry) Department: Science Curriculum: International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) Education Stage: High/Secondary School Location: Fukuoka, Japan Teaching ResponsibilitiesTeach IBDP Science, particularly Biology and Chemistry, to high school students (typically 10–20 students per class) aligned with the IB DP curriculum. Foster critical thinking, inquiry, and scientific understanding among students. Prepare lower secondary students for future study in the IB Diploma Programme. Develop curriculum, prepare lesson plans, design assessments and examinations, and evaluate student work. Support students in preparing for Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays (EE), and IB Final Examinations, where appropriate. Other ResponsibilitiesServe as an assistant homeroom teacher for one class (the homeroom teacher will be a Japanese teacher). Participate in school events such as Open School, Summer Camp, and other promotional activities as required. Supervise extracurricular activities and/or service-learning activities. Communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders regarding students' academic progress and well-being. Demonstrate respect, empathy, and care toward students and colleagues Undertake other reasonable duties assigned by the IBDP Coordinator or the school administration. Requirements : Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher (Master's degree preferred) in Science firld Valid teaching licence or teaching qualification Experience At least 1 year of teaching experience with IB curriculum preferred but not mandatory. Strong knowledge of biology and chemistry concepts relevant to the IB DP
