French Teacher – Maternity Cover

Vacancy Description: Kelem International School (KIS) is seeking a dedicated French Teacher (Maternity Cover) for the 2026–27 school year. About Kelem International School KIS is a Pre-KG to Grade 10 international school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with a rich 80-year legacy. Originally founded as the Swedish Community School, KIS offers a vibrant, multicultural environment with a student body representing 28 nationalities. We follow the Finnish curriculum blended with international best practices for Grades 1–10 and the IEYC for Kindergarten. Role Summary & Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Team Leader, you will plan and deliver high-quality French language instruction aligned with international standards. Key duties include: Developing inquiry-based lesson plans with formative assessments and differentiation. Creating a safe, organized, and inclusive learning environment. Fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. Maintaining accurate records of attendance and academic performance. Serving as a Homeroom Teacher and participating in extra-curricular activities. Communicating effectively with parents, staff, and leadership. Qualifications & Requirements B.Ed. in French Language and Literature and/or B2/C1 DELF Certification. Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience (preferably in an international/community school setting). Working hours: Mon–Thu 7:30 AM–4:30 PM; Fri 7:30 AM–3:30 PM.
