About this role
CDUTCM-Keele Joint Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, founded in 2023, is a collaborative provision between Keele University - renowned for its highly-ranked medical programmes in England and CDUTCM - a leading “Double First-Class” institution in China.
The first year of the joint provision is an International Foundation Prorgamme (IFP) with modules from the Keele Language Centre, comprising of a range of subjects including applied English skills, general study skills, academic writing, and critical thinking skills to prepare students for success in their undergraduate degree study.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, innovative teaching (up to 20 class periods weekly) and provide at least 6 class periods weekly as office hours that inspires and engages students, using diverse methods and technologies aligned with Keele’s and CDUTCM academic standards.
Provide comprehensive academic support and mentorship, fostering student success and personal development throughout their learning journey.
Assist Head of IFP with other initiatives developed to support and enhance student learning as and when required.
Selection Criteria:
Master’s degree preferred.
Ideally at least two years of full-time teaching experience in English language related subjects in an Higher Education insitution.
A English language teaching qualification - CELTA or equivalent is preferred.
Non-native English-speaking candidates need to evidence their English language proficiency at IELTS 7.5 or equivalent.
Strong communication skills and established/emerging leadership experience.
Cultural adaptability and experience developing curricula for varied educational contexts.
