The John of Gaunt School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and passionate First Aider. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
In this role, your duties and responsibilities will include making assessments of students reporting sick or unwell to the medical room, administering first aid if required and determining whether they are fit to remain in school or return to lessons. Contact parents/guardians/carers to arrange collection and provide advice accordingly. You will have the opportunity to coordinate the school's counselling provision to support students identified by the school's pastoral team. Working closely with primary feeder schools, you will support and ensure the effective transition, support and collation of information regarding students with medical needs as they move from Y6 or Y7. You must be a quality communicator who can liaise with Year Leaders, the Pastoral Support Manager, SENDCo and other staff to ensure all students receive an appropriate level of healthcare support within the school.
