Job DescriptionPosition: Female LifeguardDepartment: Physical Education (PE)
Reports To: PE Coordinator / Head of PE
Job PurposeThe Female Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors using the school's swimming pool. The role involves supervising swimming activities, preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a safe and hygienic pool environment in accordance with school policies and health and safety regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise students during swimming lessons, PE classes, training sessions, and other school aquatic activities.
Monitor the swimming pool and surrounding areas at all times to ensure the safety of all users.
Enforce pool rules and safety procedures consistently.
Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including performing water rescues, CPR, First Aid
Inspect the swimming pool, changing rooms, and pool equipment daily to ensure they are safe, clean, and operational.
Maintain rescue equipment, first aid supplies, and emergency response equipment in good working condition.
Assist PE teachers and swimming instructors during lessons and school swimming events.
Record and report accidents, incidents, hazards, and maintenance issues promptly.
Ensure all safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety policies are followed.
Promote safe swimming practices and educate students on water safety.
Support school events and extracurricular swimming activities when required.
Perform any other duties assigned by the School Leadership Team within the scope of the role.
QualificationsBachelor Degree
Valid Lifeguard Certification from a recognized organization.
Valid CPR, First Aid,
Additional swimming instructor qualifications are an advantage.
ExperienceMinimum of 1–2 years of lifeguarding experience, preferably in a school, educational institution, or sports facility.
Experience working with children and adolescents is preferred.
