About this role
AccountabilityAccountable to the Head of KS1 and EYFS and Head of Junior School and through the Head of Junior School, to the Headmistress of Uppingham Hung Yen.
Key Areas of ResponsibilityThe Foundation Stage Teacher’s chief aims are to:
Provide outstanding early years education and pastoral care.
Uphold the holistic development of every child.
Foundation Stage Teachers will:
Deliver an inspiring, play-based EYFS curriculum.
Establish a safe, inclusive and joyful environment.
Set ambitious and developmentally appropriate targets.
Promote creativity, resilience, curiosity and independence.
Plan and deliver learning experiences that follow children’s interests.
Use assessment to identify strengths and next steps.
Support English language development through rich interactions.
Collaborate with colleagues to enrich EY provision.
Communicate effectively with parents.
Contribute to the full life of the school, suppoting the students in all aspects of school life.
EssentialBachelor’s degree from a recognised academic institution.
Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, QTS or equivalent).
Strong pedagogical knowledge of early childhood education.
Understanding of UK safeguarding and child protection protocols.
Demonstrable commitment to professional development.
Strong ICT and organisational skills.
Experience supporting pupils of all abilities.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
DesirableExperience in UK Independent Schools or British International settings.
Knowledge of international EY accreditation or inspection frameworks.
Experience with educational technology such as iPads
