About this role
The College is seeking to appoint an ESOL Teaching Assistant to support pupils for whom English is not their first language across the Senior School. The majority of support will be focused on Years 9–11, although the postholder may work with pupils across the College as required.
Working closely with the Head of ESOL, the postholder will provide in-class support to pupils developing their English proficiency, enabling them to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. The successful candidate will build positive relationships with international pupils, supporting both their academic progress and confidence in using English across the curriculum.
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join a dedicated ESOL team and play a key role in supporting the academic success of our multilingual learners.
The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A copy of the College’s Child Protection Policy is available on the website.
Bishop's Stortford College is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; all employees are subject to a number of pre-employment and safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check. References and an online search will be undertaken prior to interview. To this end, robust Safeguarding processes and procedures are in place to support families, pupils, staff, and volunteers. In compliance with the sharing of information guidance/best practice, any concerns are passed to designated teachers, trained in Safeguarding.
