NOR c.1445 Enhanced Learning Support Assistant - Level 3 BB04 £26403 – £27254 per annum pro rata 37 hours per week, term time plus 11 additional days as confirmed by the school (8.30am-4.30pm Mon, 8.00am-4.00pm Tues -Thurs, Fri 8.00-3.30pm) Required From September 2026 The Governors wish to appoint an Enhanced Learning Support Assistant to join our existing team and to support students, especially those with SEND, throughout the school. The successful applicant will be hard working, flexible, and have excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will have a key responsibility in leading our new language and communication support programme. It is essential that any applicant enjoys working with and supporting young people, as this is an essential part of the role, however we encourage you to apply, even if you do not already have direct experience of working with children or young people, as full training and unstinting support will be given. We are looking for an individual who can engage with students and support them in overcoming a range of learning difficulties. The successful candidate would also need to be prepared to support the Catholic/Christian ethos at St Mary’s in this role. English to GCSE or equivalent is required. St Mary’s is a very popular and happy school, rated Outstanding by the Diocese and Ofsted. We became an academy in 2013 and enjoy outstanding facilities in a new building, which opened in 2011. We joined the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust in June 2020. We are also very popular with parents and are one of the most over-subscribed schools in the North-East. The roll has grown from around 1100 five years ago to over 1540 by September 2024, with 5 main school year groups of around 245 and a Sixth Form of approximately 280 students.
