English Teacher

We are seeking to appoint a full-time English teacher to deliver Yr7 - Yr11 English Language and potentially English Literature, up to GCSE level, as part of our highly successful English Department. At Burlington House School, we specialise in supporting students with specific learning difficulties and a range of abilities. In 2024 and 2025, we were proud to achieve a 100% pass rate for the English Language and English Literature IGCSEs. According to Fisher Family Trust data, we achieved the highest value added for English Language and Literature for any SEN specialist provision in the country. For this reason, the successful applicant should not only have experience and understanding in how to support learners with specific learning difficulties but should also have an aspirational, growth mindset regarding the potential of all learners. The successful candidate will also have an in-depth subject knowledge and will be passionate about creating engaging, creative resources. They should be willing to teach any pathway at KS4; we deliver not only the Edexcel English Language and Literature IGCSEs but also Edexcel Functional Skills. Experience in these qualifications is desirable but not essential. At A Level, we offer English Literature with Cambridge as our exam board. This position will be based at the Burlington House Senior School and the Burlington House Sixth Form School sites in Fulham. The sites are a short, scenic walk from one another. Class sizes are favourable, with no more than 12 pupils per class. Candidates should have excellent skills in ICT, communication, organisation as well as in-depth subject area knowledge. All staff and pupils are provided with a laptop computer.
