English Language Arts Secondary Teacher (Expat)

Teach Lower/Upper Class Main Accountabilities: At SISC, it is the role of a teacher to teach a class of up to 25 students depending on the grade level. Students in grades 6 to 8 will be taught based on the Cambridge Lower/Upper Secondary Curriculum Framework. A teacher must: Have a solid understanding of the Cambridge International curriculum standards and have experience closing the achievement gap Develop engaging and innovative lessons that allow our students to grow academically, socially and emotionally Incorporate technology and hands-on learning experiences into the classroom with enthusiasm Believe in collaboration with other colleagues and promotes understanding and communication in a diverse learning and cultural environment Key Roles and Responsibilities: Deliver dynamic and effective lessons to nurture students’ desire to learn Achieve the learning goals of the Cambridge International Curriculum through the content and structure of the curriculum and its methods of delivery Design and implement a comprehensive and appropriately sequenced learning program for students, reflecting current pedagogical practice and individual playing standard Create daily lesson plans and learning activities for students based on national, local and school standards in education and research and knowledge of developmental behaviors Planning and implementation of cross curricular learning and teaching Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction in the form of discussion, direct teaching, demonstrations and independent practice using a variety of proven methods Differentiate lessons when needed to give all students access to the curriculum regardless of disability, instructional level, English proficiency or level of interest in the subject Create an environment of active and genuine learning by employing a range of teaching strategies that meet the needs of all students Evaluate student performance on tasks established by the standards using different methods such as obse
