About this role

South Lincolnshire Academies Trust wish to appoint an enthusiastic English as an Additional Language (EAL) Instructor to join our secondary school team. The role involves supporting learners who are new to English or at an early stage of English language acquisition. The role focuses on small-group teaching and targeted intervention to enable students to access the mainstream curriculum, make strong progress, and integrate successfully into school life. The successful candidate will: · Plan and deliver engaging EAL lessons to small groups of pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, matched to students’ language proficiency and learning needs. · Support pupils’ development of speaking, listening, reading and writing in English, including subject-specific language required to access the curriculum. · Collaborate with teaching staff, SEN, Inclusion and EAL teams to embed language support across subjects; · Track progress and contribute to individual learning plans; · Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Maths at a 4+ (or equivalent); · A relevant qualification or substantial experience related to teaching, education or language support; · Experience working with EAL learners in a school setting would be desirable; · Have strong communication and organisational skills; · Be patient, supportive approach and a passion for helping students succeed.
