We have a unique & exciting opportunity for an English and Maths Teacher to make a genuine difference in our pupils' lives at our trauma-centred therapeutic secondary school site (KS3) & (KS4) in South Woodham, Essex starting as soon as possible.
We are looking for a dynamic and engaging teacher to support our KS3 & KS4 pupils in English and Maths. The successful candidate will deliver and support Functional Skills (Levels 1–2) as well as GCSE Maths.
You’ll join a passionate team delivering a high-quality therapeutic model of education, supporting and building relationships with pupils who have ACEs and complex SEMH needs, as well as other associated SEND.
Although we are a specialist setting, we proactively welcome enquiries from experienced mainstream colleagues, from varying disciplines, who would like to extend their skill base. Additionally, this role would be an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to develop their skills in a supportive and impactful environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the OHS curriculum
Creating and maintaining a well-managed, calm, secure and happy classroom where priority is given to the quality of the learning environment.
Contributing to breakfast, break, lunch, assembly, exercise and extra-curricular provision
Assessing pupils’ academic and SEMH progress using our assessment milestones and SEMH scale, completing achievement reports for families and placing authorities
Adhere to the schools’ relationships-first policy, ethos and procedures, to support pupils’ positive behaviour, and improvements in behaviour over time
