About this role
There is a vacancy for an electronics technician within the department. Ideally, we are looking for applicants who also have some knowledge of physics.
Electronics is taught from years 9 to 13 and is a very popular subject with our pupils, so the laboratories are very busy due to the practical work we offer our pupils. There are 3 electronics classrooms and a dedicated laboratory for A-level and GCSE teaching. Physics is taught from years 9 to 13 in 4 classrooms and 5 large laboratories, with significant numbers of students opting to study the subject at A-level.
We are looking for an organised, hard-working person, who can help manage a busy lab timetable and deal with the organisation of the associated practical classes, and to provide support for effective teaching and learning within the department.
This is a term-time plus two weeks position of 35 hours per week, typically from 8.30-4.30 each day, with an hour’s unpaid lunch break. The actual hours will depend on the needs of the school and will be discussed at interview.
