Drama Teacher

Job Title: Drama Teacher Job Purpose:Provide excellent drama lessons and learning opportunities for all students so that every child has the opportunity to reach their potential in Drama. Reporting to:MYP or PYP Co-ordinator. Other key relationships: Other teachers in the Primary School and Upper School, parents and students. Length of Contract:Two Years Salary: Competitive, to be agreed. Purpose of Job: Provide excellent drama lessons and learning opportunities for all students so that every child has the opportunity to reach their potential in drama. The Drama Teacher will be responsible for teaching drama education to students in Grades 1 - 8 and assists the staff of the school in the improvement and appreciation of drama instruction. Enable students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of drama through a variety of planned productions which include plays, assemblies and productions as requested. Main Duties and Responsibilities: · Plan and deliver excellent, engaging, challenging lessons based on the agreed JTIS International Curriculum. · Use excellent drama knowledge and pedagogy to support student learning. · Teach a wide repertoire of drama and theatre knowledge, as appropriate for the ages and skill levels of students. · Provides opportunities for drama ensembles including musicals, drama productions and plays during the school day and in After School Clubs. · Plan, rehearse, and direct students in drama programs (e.g. Winter Festival Concert and Talent Show, Summer Concert) for school and community. · Differentiate drama curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and Grades. · Develop and refine drama curriculum based on IB standards of creating, performing, and responding. · Evaluate each student’s drama and contribution to the performance of the group that allows everyone to contribute. · Use supportive, positive classroom management strategies to ensure excellent behaviour by students that allows learning to flourish. ·
