About this role
Director of SEND (SENDCO)
Are you a primary‑trained SENDCo passionate about inclusive practice and ready to make a whole‑school impact?
We warmly welcome applications from primary‑trained SENDCos who are keen to bring their strengths in early identification, personalised provision, family partnership and inclusive classroom practice into a supportive secondary context.
Idsall School is a thriving and ambitious 11–18 secondary school with a strong commitment to inclusion and exceptional outcomes for all students. Over the last two years, the school has undergone significant improvement, and SEND is a key priority in shaping our next phase of development.
As Director of SEND, you will lead SEND strategy and provision across the school, supported by an established inclusion team and a senior leadership group that values SEND expertise. We recognise that many of the most effective inclusive approaches are rooted in strong primary practice, and we are committed to supporting the successful candidate to develop confidence and expertise within a secondary framework.
This is a pivotal leadership role for an inspiring practitioner with a deep commitment to inclusion and the ambition to shape whole‑school culture, systems and professional learning. You will play a central role in ensuring that students with SEND are known as individuals, supported effectively, and challenged to achieve their full potential.
We offer:
A genuinely inclusive ethos where SEND leadership is valued and influential
Strong professional support for SENDCos transitioning from primary to secondary
Opportunities to shape whole‑school practice and staff development
A collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement
If you are a skilled SENDCo looking to extend your impact beyond the primary phase, this role offers an exciting opportunity to apply and grow your expertise within a forward‑thinking secondary school.
