Bohunt Horsham is seeking an exceptional Director of Inclusion to lead our inclusive practice across both primary and secondary phases. This is a significant leadership opportunity for a qualified teacher and qualified SENCo who is committed to removing barriers to learning and improving outcomes for our most vulnerable students.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for SEND, SEMH, attendance, alternative provision and vulnerable learners, ensuring that all statutory requirements are met while creating a culture where every student feels valued, supported and successful.
We are looking for a leader who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) or equivalent SENCo qualification.
Has substantial experience leading SEND and inclusion provision.
Has proven experience of leading Alternative Provision and reintegration pathways.
Has expertise in SEMH, EBSA and complex student needs.
Can build strong partnerships with families and external agencies.
Has the vision and determination to develop outstanding inclusive practice.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic leadership of inclusion across the secondary phase.
Oversight of SEND statutory responsibilities and EHCP provision.
Leadership of alternative provision, including Diversion and Twilight School.
Behaviour and safeguarding leadership for inclusion students.
Leadership of interventions for students at risk of exclusion.
Monitoring and support for students with persistent attendance concerns.
Acting as Designated Teacher for Children Looked After.
Leading and developing the Inclusion Team.
We are in our seventh year since opening, located just north of Horsham in West Sussex. We currently provide for students in Reception-Y1 and Years 7-11 with a nursery facility. Over the next few years, we will grow to become an all-through school for 162
