Morton Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Director of English to join its team.
The primary aim of this role is to deliver a high-value curriculum that ensures exceptional student progress, aligned with the Academy’s long-term vision and direction.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with a proven record of achieving strong results, as well as the ability to support colleagues in enhancing their teaching practice.
This role would suit either an experienced middle leader seeking a new challenge or a highly effective classroom teacher looking to step into their first leadership position. You will play an important role in the Academy’s ongoing growth and development, with many opportunities for career progression as the Academy continues to expand. This is a chance to contribute to shaping the Academy’s vision and future for years to come.
You will demonstrate a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and current performance measures, alongside solid knowledge of KS3 and KS4 data. You will also have a clear vision for how performance data can be effectively used by teachers, middle leaders, senior leaders, and governors, and the ability to implement this in practice.
