About the role The UCL Academy is seeking a committed, conscientous and passionate individual to join our pastoral team in the newly created role of Designated Safeguarding Manager. You will support the Leadership team to provide a safe environment in which students can develop and learn. You will take the day-to-day lead on safeguarding issues within the school, working closely with the senior leader responsible for inclusion and safeguarding. Main duties will include: Ensuring full compliance with statutory safeguarding and child protection responsibilities; Maintain and develop safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring that all staff are well-trained and confident in their responsibilities; Lead meetings on behalf of the Academy in cases where the school initiates a MASH or LADO referral; Liaise with external agencies such as social services, CAMHS, and the local authority; Line manage the Academy's Familiy Liaision Officer and School Welfare Lead.
