We are seeking a talented and versatile D&T Technician with a small element (approx 4 hours) of support within the Food Technology room, to join our innovative and dynamic department. It's an opportunity to be at the heart of our students' practical learning journey, turning concepts into creations.
In our workshops, you will be the engine that keeps things running smoothly. This role is perfect for a highly organised, hands-on individual who thrives on variety and can easily switch from ensuring food hygiene standards to maintaining workshop machinery.
What you will do;Fuel Creativity: You will prepare and set up a wide range of materials and equipment for lessons across D&T, from woodwork and electronics to delicious culinary experiments.
You will conduct routine safety checks and maintenance on all equipment, acting as our departmental health and safety champion to ensure a secure environment for both staff and students.You will take charge of managing stock, ordering supplies, and organising resources, ensuring that teachers and students have everything they need, exactly when they need it.
Innovate and Collaborate: You'll work closely with teaching staff and students, offering technical advice, assisting with demonstrations, and helping to bring ambitious projects to fruition.
Your work will support the development of our students' practical skills, helping to inspire the next generation of engineers, and designers and chefs.What we are looking for
A practical, hands-on approach and a genuine enthusiasm for both D&T and some food preparation.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop and kitchen setting.
Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy, diverse workload.
Excellent communication skills and a team-player.A 'can-do' attitude and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
