We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Design & Technology Technician to join our successful secondary school and play a vital role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning across our Design & Technology department.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced teaching staff in well-equipped workshops, helping to inspire the next generation of designers, engineers and makers.
About the Role
As our Design & Technology Technician, you will ensure our workshops are safe, well-organised and fully prepared for practical lessons. You will work closely with teaching staff to prepare materials and equipment, maintain machinery and tools, and support students in developing practical skills safely and effectively.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work with modern manufacturing technologies, including laser cutting, 3D printing and CNC routing, while contributing to exciting curriculum projects, enrichment activities and whole-school events.
We are looking for someone who:
Has practical workshop skills and experience of working with a range of tools and machinery.
Has a good understanding of health and safety within a workshop environment.
Is organised, reliable and able to prioritise a varied workload.
Enjoys working as part of a team and supporting young people in their learning.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ideally has experience of CAD/CAM technologies, laser cutting, CNC machinery or 3D printing (training can be provided for the right candidate).
Is committed to providing an outstanding service to staff and students.
