We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, ambitious and enthusiastic Design & Technology Technician to join our successful and forward-thinking Design & Technology faculty.
Design & Technology is a popular and highly practical subject within our school, with students studying a range of specialisms including product design, engineering, construction, textiles, food and art-based disciplines at Key Stages 3 and 4. The faculty is well-resourced, with specialist workshops, design spaces, and food preparation facilities, enabling staff to deliver high-quality practical learning experiences. You will be joining an ambitious, collaborative and supportive team who are committed to excellence in teaching and learning.
About the role
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the faculty by preparing, maintaining and organising tools, equipment and materials across workshops and practical learning spaces. You will be expected to ensure that all equipment is safe, fully operational and compliant with health and safety requirements, including COSHH regulations and risk assessments.
You will work closely with teaching staff to support practical lessons, helping to prepare materials, demonstrate practical techniques where appropriate, and ensure students can safely access a wide range of tools, machinery and processes.
