We are looking for an experienced Design and Technology Technician to join our successful, growing, and forward-thinking department. Someone who is willing and able to work with machinery and has experience working with a range of hand tools. Knowledge and experience of using CAD and CAM would be desirable.
It will be necessary for the post holder to be certified in the safe use of machinery in the workshop, and training will be provided for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Design and Technology teachers to support the department via preparation of materials for teaching and learning, maintain and replenish the stock of materials and new equipment, and maintain existing machinery and equipment in the workshops to ensure that pupils are able to work safely.
The duties and responsibilities will include:
Maintaining adequate levels of stock/materials/equipment for the department
Advising pupils on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment, and on the correct and safe way to carry out learning activities (in conjunction with teaching staff)
Preparing equipment and materials in classrooms for practical exercises, running trials, demonstrations, and helping pupils with learning activities as appropriate
Ensuring that equipment is maintained and in good working order
