About this role

We are seeking an experienced and committed Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join Bodmin College and play a key role in ensuring that safeguarding remains at the heart of school life.

Working closely with senior leaders and the wider safeguarding team, you will take day-to-day responsibility for safeguarding and child protection, managing referrals, coordinating support for vulnerable learners and working effectively with families, staff and external agencies. You will also help ensure that safeguarding policies, procedures, training and record-keeping are robust, compliant and consistently embedded across the school.

This is a highly relational role requiring sound professional judgement, excellent organisation and the ability to remain calm when managing sensitive and complex situations. You will be a trusted source of advice and support for colleagues, while ensuring that the voice, welfare and educational outcomes of children remain central to decision-making.

We are looking for someone who is approachable, empathetic, resilient and highly organised, with experience of working with children in a pastoral setting and as part of a safeguarding team. You will share Bodmin College's commitment to inclusion, high expectations and ensuring every learner has the opportunity to thrive.
