Cover Supervisor 32.5 hours per week - Term Time Only Temporary - 1 year NJC Salary Scale - Grade 4 - Scale Points 8-14 Pro-rated salary: £20,243 - £22,293 (Full Time Equivalent: £26,824 - £29,540) Salary will be pro-rated based on the number of hours and weeks worked per year. Star date: September 2026 The National Church of England Academy are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our team, working under the guidance of the Lead Cover Supervisor and subject leaders to support the smooth day-to-day running of the school. The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring a calm, orderly and purposeful learning environment while keeping students engaged with set work and providing appropriate support, including for those with additional needs. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, maintaining high expectations, and fostering an inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive. Responsibilities also include supervising break and lunchtime activities, supporting tutor sessions, completing registers, managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies, and providing feedback to teaching staff. When not covering lessons, you will support the SEN department with small group or one-to-one interventions, as well as contribute to wider school life through duties, trips, and extracurricular activities.
