ABC British Academy is seeking to appoint an outstanding, compassionate, and experienced School Counsellor to join our dedicated team. About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide counselling and wellbeing support to students, work collaboratively with staff and parents, and contribute to the school's safeguarding and inclusion practices. The role requires a proactive professional who can build positive relationships and promote a culture of wellbeing across the school.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide individual and group counselling sessions to students.
Support students' emotional, social, behavioural, and academic wellbeing.
Work closely with parents, teachers, pastoral leaders, and external agencies where appropriate.
Contribute to safeguarding, child protection, and student welfare procedures.
Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with school policies.
Deliver wellbeing workshops, awareness campaigns, and preventative programmes.
Support student transition, attendance, and behaviour initiatives.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to student support plans.
Promote positive mental health and wellbeing throughout the school community.
RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
Professional qualification in Counselling, Psychology, or Mental Health Support.
Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in a school setting preferred.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Fluent English communication skills; Arabic language skills would be an advantage.
