JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated assistant to join our Co-Curricular & Outdoor department, in a residential role within our boarding school. You will work closely with the Head of Department to plan and deliver a rich and engaging programme for our students, including after-school activities, forest school, weekend activities, expeditions and sport.You will have experience leading outdoor activities with young people, ideally including bushcraft or forest school activities, and a genuine commitment to further developing your professional skills and experience, ideally within a boarding school environment where activities extend into the evenings and weekends. A good standard of skiing and a full B1 driving licence are essential; Mountain Leadership training, International Mountain Leader, Paddlesports Leadership or Rock/Indoor Climbing Instructor qualifications, as well as a degree in this field or a closely related discipline, would be desirable. With energy and presence, you will lead by example, setting high standards in planning, assessment and record keeping, while building strong relationships with staff, parents and pupils.A flexible, hands-on approach is essential, including a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the boarding school through extra-curricular activities. You must be physically capable and medically fit to undertake the role, and meet the necessary requirements to work with children.
