About this role
We are seeking to appoint a creative, dynamic, and enthusiastic Class Teacher who has high expectations and strives to help children meet these expectations. The successful candidate will have the knowledge and experience required to teach reading and writing to a high standard, along with an enthusiasm for teaching all primary subjects. The successful applicant will have knowledge of up-to-date safeguarding practice.
Professional Responsibilities
To deliver and teach well-structured lessons
To teach, according to their educational need, the pupils assigned, setting and marking work
To adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils, knowing when to differentiate appropriately and to a high standard
To assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils
To set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
To enable pupils to explore topics for themselves and foster an environment for pupils to solve problems independently
To manage pupil behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
To demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
To give pupils regular feedback, both orally and through accurate marking
To be familiar with a range of resources suitable for individual or group settings, and use them to motivate pupils within their learning
To ensure the classroom is a safe environment for children, that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high and safety procedures are implemented
To use the classroom to create an effective and stimulating environment for the teaching and learning of each subject
To liaise with appropriate members of the pastoral team should you have concerns of pupil wellbeing, safety, or behaviour, and follow school record keeping and procedures
General Responsibilities
To attend Key Stage meetings when requested
To contribute to staff meetings, Open Days and other such functions as required in line with school protocols
