About this role
We have a vacancy for a part-time Combined Cadet Force (CCF) Contingent Commander who will hold overall responsibility for all Sections of the CCF within St Columba’s College. The role of Contingent Commander is central to the delivery of the College’s commitment to holistic education and student formation, fostering leadership, resilience, service and character.
St. Columba’s CCF was set up over twenty years ago and contains both Army and RAF sections. We recruit from Form 2 (Year 8) and Form 3 (Year 9), but we consider students from any year group. The CCF is well supported by CFAVs from both inside and outside the College and is always looking to recruit more. Numerous activities are planned during the year including Army Fieldcraft in March, RAF Flying and Gliding and Summer Camps.
Candidates must have a willingness to play a full part in the extra-curricular life of the College and be in sympathy with its Catholic ethos. In return we offer an attractive salary and benefits package.
St Columba’s College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All post holders will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the role, including reference checks with past employers, online background checks, and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
