The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors. Main Duties: Opening and securing the school buildings at the start OR end of the day Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the site Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of all indoor and outdoor areas Monitoring and managing heating, lighting, and security systems Preparing classrooms, halls, and facilities for lessons, exams, and events Conducting regular health and safety checks and reporting issues Supervising contractors and supporting site project Person Specification: Previous experience in caretaking, site management, or maintenance Good practical skills (basic DIY, plumbing, electrical, decorating, etc.) Strong awareness of health and safety regulations Ability to work independently and use initiative Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy Strong communication skills and a positive attitude Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check Good IT skills What We Offer: A supportive and friendly school environment Ongoing training and professional development Local government pension scheme (if applicable)
