About this role

The College of Richard Collyer in Horsham, ‘Collyer’s’, is one of the leading sixth form colleges in the country and the no.1 choice for A Levels in West Sussex. We have an exciting opportunity for a Careers Adviser. In this role, you will work alongside our existing Careers Adviser within the Progression Team and across the Horsham Learning Alliance Trust to provide a professional careers information, advice and guidance service to support students’ progression planning. To be successful, you will have experience of working in an educational setting providing Careers IAG, up-to-date knowledge of the labour market, employability skills and career pathways, and the ability to empathise with, motivate, inspire and relate to young people. Qualifications Minimum academic qualifications at L3 (A Level) and Level 6 qualification in Careers IAG (or working towards); an honours degree is desirable. If you do not have a Level 6 qualification in Careers IAG but are currently in training towards it, we would be happy to receive an application from you. Experience Providing Careers IAG in an education setting (16–19 experience desirable). Building and maintaining professional networks and relationships. Liaising with multiple stakeholders. Working with people with diverse interests and skills. Experience of developing a careers programme and organising events (desirable). Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of Gatsby Benchmarks, UCAS and apprenticeship application processes. Up-to-date knowledge of the labour market, employability skills and career pathways. Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Personal Qualities Good teamwork and communication skills and effective organisation. Flexible approach and well-organised work patterns.
