Job Description: Caretaker/Groundsperson Introduction: We are a well-established school in the United Kingdom committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our students, staff, and visitors. We are currently seeking an experienced Caretaker/Groundsperson to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring that the school premises and grounds are kept clean, secure, and in excellent condition. Position: Caretaker/Groundsperson Minimum Experience: 2 years Location: United Kingdom Key Responsibilities: - Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all school buildings and outdoor areas - Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, plumbing or electrical work where appropriate - Ensure security of the site by locking/unlocking doors and gates at designated times - Manage waste disposal including recycling procedures - Support event setup within the school premises when required - Monitor building systems such as heating or lighting to ensure they function correctly Skills and Qualifications: - Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar caretaker or groundsperson role - Basic knowledge of general maintenance skills (plumbing, carpentry, electrical) - Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively - Good organisational skills with attention to detail - Physically fit with ability to perform manual tasks outdoors throughout different weather conditions - Reliable with good time management abilities - Basic IT skills desirable but not essential Values and Attitudes: - Commitment to maintaining a safe environment for children and staff - Proactive approach towards problem-solving - Positive attitude towards teamwork while able to work independently when needed - Respectful communication style with colleagues across all levels - Willingness to learn new skills relevant to caretaking duties If you have the experience required along with dedication toward supporting an educational setting through
