Job Description: Caretaker/Groundsperson Introduction: We are a well-established school in the United Kingdom committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our students, staff, and visitors. We are currently seeking an experienced Caretaker/Groundsperson to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring that the school premises and grounds are kept clean, secure, and in excellent condition. Position: Caretaker/Groundsperson Minimum Experience: 3 years Location: United Kingdom Key Responsibilities: - Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the school buildings and grounds - Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, plumbing or electrical work where appropriate - Ensure security of the site by locking/unlocking doors and gates at designated times - Monitor heating systems and other facilities equipment to ensure proper functioning - Manage waste disposal including recycling procedures - Support event setups within the school premises when required - Report any major repairs or safety hazards promptly to management Skills and Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar caretaker or groundsperson role - Basic knowledge of building maintenance including plumbing, carpentry or electrical skills preferred - Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely - Good organisational skills with attention to detail - Physically fit with ability to perform manual tasks outdoors throughout all seasons - Competent use of hand tools relevant to caretaking duties Values and Attitudes: - Reliable with strong sense of responsibility towards maintaining a safe environment - Proactive approach towards identifying issues before they escalate - Positive attitude towards teamwork supporting colleagues across different departments - Commitment to upholding health & safety standards at all times - Respectful communication style suitable for working within an educational setting If you have the experienc
