Biology Teacher

Position Title MYP Biology (some General Sciences classes )& DP Biology Teacher Reports To MYP Coordinator, DP Coordinator, and Head of Secondary Position Overview The MYP & DP Biology Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Biology within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). The teacher promotes inquiry-based learning, scientific thinking, environmental awareness, and the development of research skills while fostering students' intellectual curiosity and academic growth. Key Responsibilities Teaching and Learning Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Biology lessons aligned with the IB MYP and DP curricula. Facilitate inquiry-based and student-centered learning experiences that encourage critical thinking and scientific investigation. Develop students' understanding of biological concepts through practical laboratory work, field studies, and research activities. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Integrate technology and innovative teaching practices to enhance learning. Maintain a safe laboratory environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Assessment and Reporting Design and implement formative and summative assessments in accordance with IB requirements. Assess student learning using appropriate IB assessment criteria and standards. Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth. Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement. Prepare reports and communicate student progress to parents and guardians. Guide and supervise DP students in the completion of Internal Assessments (IA) and prepare them for external examinations. Curriculum Development Collaborate with colleagues to develop, review, and improve curriculum documentation and unit plans.
