This role establishes and runs a calm, restorative Reset Room where students removed from lessons reflect, complete curriculum work, rebuild self-regulation and return to mainstream lessons ready to learn. You will support vulnerable students with academic catch-up and emotional regulation, reduce repeat removals and improve engagement.
What you'll be doing
Lead day-to-day operation of the Reset Room, maintaining a calm, purposeful and restorative environment.
Ensure students complete high-quality curriculum tasks supplied by teaching staff and record completion and progress.
Hold restorative conversations after removals to help students understand the impact of choices and identify practical strategies to improve behaviour.
Prepare students for reintegration, liaising with class teachers to share agreed strategies and adjustments.
Monitor students after reintegration and provide short-term follow-up support where needed.
Accurately and confidentially record removals, restorative conversations, interventions and outcomes in line with academy procedures (including CPOMS use where applicable).
Identify patterns or repeat removals and report these to pastoral leads to inform targeted interventions.
Work closely with the SENDCo, Pastoral Team, Attendance Team, safeguarding staff and teaching staff to coordinate support and share relevant information.
Maintain professional boundaries, follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to ongoing review and development of Reset Room practice.
