About this role

Teaching and Behaviour Support Assistant Full-time or part-time opportunities available We are a small, family-run independent school dedicated to supporting young people aged 11–16 with a range of special educational needs. Many of our students have Autism and/or ADHD alongside social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. As a result, our learners often experience high levels of anxiety and low self-esteem, and thrive in a nurturing, supportive environment. A unique aspect of our school is our Equine Yard, home to around 40 horses. Students regularly engage with the horses through planned lessons and interventions, which form a vital part of our therapeutic approach. While prior horse experience isn’t essential, all staff must be willing to support students in activities on the yard. We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Teaching and Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team. Key Responsibilities Support students in lessons, promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning. Provide assistance when students are dysregulated or unable to access the classroom. Aid teachers in delivering smooth, effective lessons. Support students during outdoor activities such as equine sessions, forestry and cooking. Uphold behaviour standards consistently across the school. Supervise students during break and lunch times, including helping to serve food. Contribute to maintaining tidy classrooms and site spaces. Assist with classroom preparation during school holidays. Occasionally support yard staff with tasks. Deliver planned interventions for individuals or small groups. Participate in training and professional development. Work flexibly and positively as part of a supportive team. We take a flexible approach to support, with staff working across different lessons and interventions as needed, rather than being assigned to individual students. Important Information Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm (students on site 8:45am–3:45pm). Contracts: 52 weeks H
