About this role
Great Oaks School is seeking a compassionate, emotionally intelligent individual to join our team as a Behaviour and Pastoral Support Officer. This is a busy but deeply rewarding role, working directly with students to support their emotional wellbeing, engagement, and development.
You’ll play a vital part in helping students overcome barriers to learning by building trusting relationships and offering consistent co-regulation experiences. Using de-escalation techniques and tailored interventions, you’ll help students develop self-regulation skills and thrive in their educational environment.
As a visible and proactive presence throughout the school day, you’ll respond to behaviour incidents, support attendance and engagement, and collaborate with staff and families to create positive outcomes. No two days are the same, but every day brings the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
This role is open to candidates with experience supporting young people who may display behaviours which challenge. While school experience is desirable, we would consider applications from candidates with other experience working directly supporting young people.
Great Oaks is part of the Specialist Schools Trust which also includes Rosewood Free School.
