We are looking to recruit Assistant Teacher - Food Technology Lab to join our high-quality teaching team in the Food Preparation and Nutrition Department. The successful candidate will be an inspiring, knowledgeable candidate who will be capable of assisting the team in the Food Technology Laboratory. It is the opportunity to develop within the established professional learning programme and enriched learning community. Core Responsibilities: Preparing equipment and teaching areas for practical activities and food science investigations. Maintaining equipment and managing food stores in the food storage and teaching areas of the Food Technology laboratory. Regularly stock take perishable and non perishable items Ensuring FIFO is maintained to meet Food Safety requirements. Supporting teacher in practical classes but not leading the learning in class; as directed by and under the supervision of the teaching staff. Helping students to get the most out of learning experiences. Cleans and performs general uptake of Food Technology laboratory and launders textiles e.g., tea towels, cloths, aprons. Carrying out administrative and other functions related to the smooth running of the department e.g., ordering ingredients, printing, input of data. Ensuring a safe and hygienic working environment, addressing and modelling health and safety procedures. Developing resources and displays for the Food Technology laboratory.
