About this role
This post offers the successful candidate the unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the expansion of our leadership structure within the SEND & Inclusion Department. SEND & Inclusion is a key area of the school’s work and is highly valued by our students and parents/carers. The post holder will play a key role, alongside the Head of SEND & Inclusion, in further developing this essential work. This role will provide the post holder with the opportunity to shape and refine our SEND provision.
•To assist the Head of SEND & Inclusion in discharging their duties across the Department.
•Work with the Head of SEND & Inclusion to ensure inclusive teaching and learning across all Key Stages and support teachers in raising standards of achievement for all students with SEND.
•To assist the Head of SEND & Inclusion in fulfilling the statutory requirements for transfer of Statements, ECHP applications and Annual Reviews.
•To work with the Head of SEND & Inclusion to develop provision in line with OFSTED Inclusion framework and SEND White Paper.
•To support with the leadership of staff within the Department, line managing the Senior Lead Practitioners
•To Quality Assure the delivery of adaptive teaching in the classroom and provide effective and relevant training to wider staff on accessible teaching, reasonable adjustments and other recommended strategies for the support of students with additional needs within the school.
•To monitor attendance and behaviour of EHCP & SEND students and to oversee effective intervention and support where students are presenting with attendance and behaviour difficulties.
•To lead and develop the school's EBSA policy and frameworks.
•To disseminate best practice in SEND across the Department and the wider staff group.
•To monitor and ensure the high-quality delivery of direct SEND Support through intervention and lesson support.
•To involve themselves fully with all aspects of supporting children with special needs.
